Minify XML
Paste an XML document to get a compact version without unnecessary spaces or line breaks, while checking that it is well-formed.
How it works
Useful before embedding an XML document (configuration, data feed, sitemap) in a build or a network request, to reduce its size by removing indentation and line breaks that have no functional value. The tool also checks along the way that the XML is syntactically valid.
Is the text content inside the tags modified?
No, only the unnecessary whitespace between tags (indentation, line breaks) is removed. The text actually inside the elements is preserved as is.
What happens if my XML is not valid?
An error message appears saying the document couldn't be parsed — for example an unclosed tag or an unescaped character. Fix the source XML before trying again.
100% local processing: the document is processed entirely in your browser via WebAssembly and never leaves your device.
