Convert YAML to INI
Turn a YAML configuration file into a classic INI file organized by sections. Ideal for migrating a config from a modern tool to software that only accepts the INI format.
How it works
Some older software and some system tools only accept configuration files in INI format, while most modern tools (Docker Compose, Ansible, CI/CD) use YAML. Paste or import your YAML: each top-level key that contains a sub-object becomes an INI section "[name]", and the keys it contains (including nested ones, joined by a dot) become "key = value" lines in that section. Standalone top-level keys are grouped into a "[general]" section.
Are YAML lists supported?
The INI format has no native equivalent for lists: YAML lists (lines starting with a dash) are not carried over as is in the result. For a reliable result, stick to YAML made of simple key/value pairs, possibly nested.
How are keys nested several levels deep handled?
A key nested several levels deep (for example "app.serveur.port") is flattened and its full dot-separated path becomes the key in the matching INI section, for example "serveur.port = 8080" in the "[app]" section.
100% local processing: the YAML is parsed and the INI is generated entirely in your browser, and your configuration file is never sent to a server.
