Generate a TypeScript interface from YAML

Paste a YAML configuration file (mappings, lists, simple values) to automatically generate the matching TypeScript interfaces, with nested type inference. No data is sent to a server.

Example:

How it works

The tool includes a minimal YAML parser written specifically for this converter: it handles indented mappings, lists introduced by "- " and simple values (strings, numbers, booleans, null). Each nested object becomes a TypeScript interface named after its parent key, with recursive type inference.

Which YAML constructs are not supported?

This homemade parser doesn't handle anchors/aliases (&ref / *ref), multi-line strings (

How are arrays of objects typed?

If a list contains structured objects (like a list of users), the tool creates a dedicated interface from the first item in the list and types the array as InterfaceName[], rather than duplicating the structure for every item.

100% local processing: your YAML file is parsed directly in JavaScript in your browser, with no network transmission.
